A Canada based mid-size construction group had already invested in a robust PM software and developed templates. However, the adoption of the tools and practices were very low and sporadic. The team struggled with scope changes, had difficulties in efficiently planning resources, risk management and project tracking leading to time and money slipping through the cracks. Challenges among the team included fear and difficulty into adapting new practices, wanting to maintain status quo among a few others.
Step 1: Workle started with a clear needs analysis and uncovered the specific areas of Project Management which were of value to the client team
Step 2: A customized training program aligning and enriching their processes, tools and techniques was subsequently developed. Further a post-training Action Plan was mapped out integrating the goals of the PM Office and the participants.
Stage 3: Short micro e-learning videos were provided prior to the workshop
Stage 4: A 2-days hands-on, high engagement instructor led PM training workshop helped the learners master the fundamentals, develop a PM mindset understanding the value behind PM, practice the concepts and use PM tools and templates on their projects in a guided environment. Participants reviewed and refined their Action Plans.
Stage 5: A continued support of 3 months enabled participants to reach out anytime for advice on specific challenges or situations they encountered to maximize adoption.
After 3 months, the Action Plans were revisited, and participants were asked to measure the impact on their Project Management methodology and project performance outcomes. The data collected showed the following:
